Heard you knockin' at my door Don't know what you're lookin' for Eyes on fire across the room How can I get close to you? I play pretend til' I barricade Not sure how much more I'll take Walls started crumblin' Play like this and you'll never win I speak in echoes to stay sane (I speak in echoes to stay sane) I'm a prisoner of my own game 'Can we get a little closer now?' you say Now you say 'I never want to be so far away' So far away 'Can we get a little closer now?' you say Now you say 'Oh I know a place where we can both escape' But can you see me from this distance? Can you see me from this distance? Enjoyin' easy company Blurry beautiful's a sight you have to see And where do I go? I'll never know And how do you find me when I don't show? I speak in echoes to stay sane (I speak in echoes to stay sane) I'm a prisoner of my own game 'Can we get a little closer now?' you say 'I never want to be so far away' 'Can we get a little closer now?' you say (Oh now you say) 'I never want to be so far away' 'Can we get a little closer now?' you say 'Oh I know a place where we can both escape' (Can you see me from this distance?) Oh 'can we get a little closer now today?' (Can you see me from this distance?) Oh 'I never want this thing to fade away' Can you see me from this distance? (Can you see me from this distance?) Can you see me from this distance? (Can you see me from this distance?)

Alright 03:44
Missed him Missed him Missed him Missed him She missed him missed him but she didn't really want him back All alone now she reminds herself of all the cracks And she hears the smoke upon the sound Tried to breathe in but you are what we found Mind like a diamond Tear stained eye She thinks she left him to the tide But for now we start to smile 'Cause everything everything everything Will be alright (Will be alright, I got) Will be alright (Good times in sight) Will be alright (Will be alright, think I) Will be alright (Just need some time) Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh Don't think it will ever be the same But coffee stains are still spelling out his name Watch your clock it's passing by Out-worn heart while chasing time Mind like a diamond (Mind like a diamond) Tear stained eye She thinks she left him to the tide (She thinks she left him to the tide) But for now we start to smile 'Cause everything everything everything Will be alright (Will be alright, I got) Will be alright (Good times in sight) Will be alright (Will be alright, think I) Will be alright (Just need some time) Darlin' don't try to be so good, but Girl you ain't acting like you should Darlin' don't try to be so good, but Girl you ain't acting like you should Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh (Ain't actin' like you should) Everything, everything's gonna be alright That's what I, that's what I say in my mind Everything, everything's gonna be alright That's what I, keep sayin' in my mind Will be alright (Will be alright, I got) Will be alright (Good times in sight) Will be alright (Will be alright, think I) Will be alright (Just need some time)

Tell Me 04:12
Oh ah oh oh Oh ah oh Oh ah oh oh Oh ah oh Tell me Cause' I need to know Are we just lucky to have each other to grow? When all these millions They come and go Don't wanna be out here alone Mmm We've had our differences I have to say Do we know any other way? And I know our times will change Hoping that you and me will stay the same Tell me You always will be With me Forever and more Know that You have my heart and Will do As long as I'm yours Don't say forever and more If you're Gonna go and walk out that door Don't say forever and more If you'll walk out that door Oh sister, you helped me see who I am Oh brother, you made me understand I said that I would always love you Even in the days that I feel blue And the ones that feel brand new We've had our differences I have to say Do we know any other way? And I know our times will change Hoping you and me will always stay the same Tell me You always will be With me Forever and more Know that You have my heart and Will do As long as I'm yours Tell me You always will be With me Forever and more Know that You have my heart and Will do As long as I'm yours Don't say forever and more If you're Gonna go and walk out that door Don't say forever and more If you'll walk out that door Tell me Cause' I need to know Are we just lucky to have each other, each other?

about

My debut EP Like It Is is all about understanding my own emotions and the importance of communicating these with others. The EP explores a journey of being true to myself, of opening up, and saying it ‘like it is’.

I recorded this EP in my bedroom in Monaghan - during the third lockdown. Like a lot of people during this time, I found it a great time to ponder on different aspects of my life, and this EP is a musical form of my reactions to some of these moments.

Each of the tracks on the EP are emotional responses caught in time - I see the work as a little time capsule of my life. Even though I may outgrow some of the feelings I express here, the EP shows that they were important to me at a particular time.

Throughout the creation of the EP, I noticed that I paid a lot more attention to my inner-dialogue and my self confidence (both as an artist and my overall self). I felt as though my self-belief grew stronger as the EP developed. This in turn helped me focus on honesty, social connection, and perseverance.

The first track that was released from the EP was ‘Alright’ which focuses on our individual experiences of recovery, moving on, and our constant ability to rediscover ourselves.

The second single that was released from the EP was 'Closer', and this is about the frustration of not being able to have physical contact with people in your life (especially during lockdown). It is about the longing to get closer to people, yet the uncertainty of where people's boundaries lie.

The unreleased tracks from the EP include ‘Tell Me' and ‘Road’ (out on October 8th). These tracks explore the ideas of looking for reassurance in relationships and celebrating how we are somewhat sculpted by those we surround ourselves with.

I wanted the EP to have a dream-like quality in its sound, to express the passing thoughts I had throughout making it. I also wanted to create a work that I enjoyed performing and listening to myself, and have it as something that I will always look back on and be proud of.”
